SmokeBuddy Air Filters: How They Work and Which Size Fits You

If you've seen the little colorful canisters in our SmokeBuddy collection and wondered what they actually do, here's the rundown.

How a Personal Air Filter Works

SmokeBuddy filters use an activated carbon filter to absorb smoke and odor as you exhale through the device. Air passes through the carbon media, which traps particles and smell before it disperses into the room. That makes it a popular choice for anyone who wants to keep their sessions more discreet.

Original vs. Junior: What's the Difference?

  • SmokeBuddy Original. The standard, full-size filter. More carbon media means more filtering capacity before the cartridge needs replacing.
  • SmokeBuddy Junior. A smaller, more pocketable version. Easier to carry, with a slightly smaller filtering capacity than the Original.

Choosing a Color or Finish

Functionally, every color and finish in the SmokeBuddy lineup performs the same. Purple, Red, Teal, White, Black and the Tye Dye and Evil Buddy designs are all built on the same Original or Junior body. It really comes down to personal style. We also carry White ECO versions of both the Original and Junior, built with more sustainable materials for anyone who prioritizes that.

Care Tips

  • Let the filter air out between uses rather than sealing it away right after. This helps it last longer.
  • Replacement filter cartridges are available separately once the carbon media is spent.
